Nollywood actor Stan Nweze has stirred conversation online after releasing a satirical video aimed at the Nigerian government.
Shared via his Instagram page on June 26, the video features Nweze making a tongue-in-cheek remark about the state of freedom of speech in the country. According to him, Nigerians are now hesitant to speak openly due to fear of repercussions, suggesting that the environment no longer supports honest expression without consequences.
‘’There is no longer freedom of speech in this country. Everyone is scared of speaking. There are certain things we want to say but we can’t because you will get picked up from your home. We no longer speak our mind.
If not that there is no longer freedom of speech, I would have said that this government is not working. I can’t say this government is a rubbish government. Why will I say that? If I say such now, they will come and pick me and so I will not say something like that” he said
