Mayorkun, who joined Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) in 2016 and departed in 2021, has since been signed to Sony Music West Africa — a move that sparked rumors of a fallout between the two music stars.
However, during a recent interview with 3Music TV, Mayorkun dispelled any speculation of bad blood, crediting Davido for facilitating his transition to Sony.
“Aside from having my label, right now I am also with Sony Africa. Shout out to Davido for that as well, he facilitated the deal,” he said.

His statement highlights the continued mutual respect between the two artists and Davido’s enduring support for Mayorkun’s career, even after leaving his label.
In other news, Nollywood actress Olamide Odunlade has taken to social media to express heartfelt gratitude after narrowly escaping a fiery tanker explosion on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday.
The accident, which occurred near Deeper Life Bible Church and directly opposite the NASFAT camp, involved a petrol tanker that lost control, overturned, and exploded shortly after. The resulting inferno sent thick smoke into the sky and caused widespread panic among road users and nearby residents.
Eyewitnesses say the explosion triggered a major traffic jam stretching as far back as Berger. Many motorists, in a desperate bid to flee the chaos, drove against traffic, worsening the gridlock.
Caught in the incident was actress Olamide Odunlade, who shared a video of her terrified escape on Instagram. In the clip, she can be seen fleeing the scene visibly shaken and emotional.
Fighting back tears, she cried out in gratitude, saying, “God, thank you. What would I have said? Everybody run!”
