Popular Nigerian comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, widely known as Sabinus, has sparked online reactions with his response to the recent tragic events in Benue State.
Reports indicate that between Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14, 2025, approximately 200 people were brutally killed in Yelwata, Benue State, by unidentified gunmen. The horrifying incident gained widespread attention after activist and internet personality Vincent Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, shared disturbing footage from the scene.
In the wake of the tragedy, several Nigerian celebrities have spoken out, condemning the violence and calling for urgent intervention. Among them is Sabinus, who used his social media platforms to advocate for peace. The comedian posted a photo of himself holding a placard with the bold message: “Stop the killing in Benue please.”
Staying true to his trademark appearance, Sabinus wore his iconic blue shirt and crooked tie in the image as he raised the placard in solidarity with the victims and their families.
