The Ijaw Protection Forum (IPF) has issued a stern warning to Nigerian comedian Klintoncod over what it described as repeated defamatory remarks and public mockery aimed at renowned cleric, Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin.
In a statement released by the forum’s president, Alfred Ebiowei, the group expressed deep concern over Klintoncod’s alleged attacks on the spiritual leader, which they claim have crossed the line of acceptable public commentary.
“Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin is not just a religious figure; he is a spiritual father to many and a highly respected voice in the Ijaw nation,” Ebiowei stated. “It is both disappointing and unacceptable that Klintoncod finds pleasure in throwing insults and making unverified allegations against him online.”
The IPF emphasized that Prophet Fufeyin has long been a pillar in the Ijaw community and across Nigeria, not only for his spiritual leadership but also for his philanthropic contributions, which have positively impacted countless lives.
Ebiowei went on to describe Klintoncod’s actions as a deliberate attempt to ridicule a revered figure, warning that such behavior undermines the moral and cultural values of the Ijaw people.
“These attacks are not just against one man, but against the collective dignity of a community,” he said. “We will not sit by in silence. We are closely monitoring his digital activities, and we will use every legal means available to protect the image and integrity of our respected prophet.”
The group made it clear that this would be the final warning to Klintoncod and others engaging in what they termed “shameful behavior.” They vowed to begin legal proceedings if the attacks on Prophet Fufeyin continue.
The IPF also appealed to media platforms, social networks, and content creators to refrain from promoting unverified or defamatory content, especially when it targets religious or community leaders.
Ebiowei concluded by urging Klintoncod to reflect on his actions and understand the spiritual depth of the matters he’s mocking.
“Spiritual things are not for carnal minds. The deep things of the Spirit are not to be toyed with. Mr. Klintoncod clearly lacks the understanding needed to speak on such sacred issues.”
The Ijaw Protection Forum reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the reputation of respected figures within its community and cautioned that any further attacks would be met with swift and decisive legal response.
