Rapper and YouTuber DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., has been granted a temporary restraining order against his ex-partner, actress and singer Halle Bailey. This legal development comes just weeks after Bailey secured a similar order against him, citing allegations of both physical and verbal abuse.
On Wednesday, DDG, 27, filed for the restraining order, marking a significant turn in their ongoing custody battle. Bailey, 25, had previously filed for sole legal and physical custody of their infant son, Halo, last month, also requesting permission to bring him to Italy for a filming project.
In response, DDG sought an emergency hearing to prevent Bailey from taking their son abroad and to gain full custody himself. However, the court declined the emergency request and will instead hold a formal hearing at a later date.
In court documents, DDG accused Bailey of physical abuse and emotional manipulation, stating that her behavior poses a threat to both his well-being and the safety of their child. He further alleged that Bailey used threats of self-harm and even threatened to terminate her pregnancy as a form of control during their relationship. Additionally, he claimed she had invaded his privacy.
To support his claims, DDG submitted declarations from his mother, Tonya Granberry, and her fiancé, George Charlston. They alleged that multiple Apple AirTags, which they believe were planted by Bailey, were discovered—pointing to what they described as a pattern of surveillance and stalking.
The court granted DDG a temporary protection order, restricting Bailey from harassing, surveilling, assaulting, or impersonating him. However, his requests for broader “no-contact” and “stay-away” provisions were denied until a full hearing is held.
DDG’s attorney, Larry M. Bakman, told Good Morning America that his client intends to resolve custody matters through proper legal channels rather than the public eye. A court date for both parties’ restraining order cases has been set for June 24.
As of now, Bailey’s team has not issued a statement regarding the restraining order filed against her.
