  • Chief Priest, a prominent Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur, has joined calls for President Bola Tinubu to end public grazing following the tragic massacre in Benue State.
  • Celebrity barman urges Tinubu to ban open grazing nationwide, emphasizing ranching as a sustainable and safer solution.
  • The Chief Priest emphasized the importance of safety for the people of Benue, stating that self-defense is not a crime.

Popular Nigerian socialite and nightlife mogul, Okechukwu Pascal, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has added his voice to the growing demand for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ban open grazing across the country. This comes in the wake of the recent mass killings in Benue State.

Taking to Instagram, the celebrity barman expressed outrage over the incident, calling on the president to urgently outlaw public grazing and embrace ranching as a safer, more modern solution. He described the level of destruction caused by herders as “brutal,” stating that it must come to an end.

Chief Priest didn’t hold back in his post, urging the people of Benue to prioritise their safety and defend themselves if necessary.

He wrote:
“My President, make that order now!!! End public grazing. The level of damage done is brutal. This madness has to stop. Feed your cattle in your ranches.“

Benue people sharpen your sword⚔️. No gree for anybody to kpai you. To defend yourselves no be crime!!!.”

Meanwhile, President Tinubu, during a town hall meeting with stakeholders in Makurdi on Wednesday, promised decisive federal intervention if land-grabbing is found to be driving the violence.

“We were not elected to bury people and have orphans and orphanages,” Tinubu said. “We will work with you to achieve peace.”

He acknowledged the escalating land-related tensions in the state and directed that the issue be addressed in a comprehensive and lasting manner.
