Media personality Destiny Ezeyin, also known as Radiogad, has voiced concerns about social media activist Martin Vincent Otse, better known as Verydarkman (VDM), following his recent release from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) custody.
After VDM shared his first video post-release, which gained significant attention, Radiogad took to social media to reveal what VDM allegedly experienced while in detention.
According to Radiogad, VDM requires immediate medical attention due to the severe beating he reportedly endured during his time in EFCC custody. Radiogad claimed that VDM was struck with a gun to his neck, causing internal bleeding and significant body pain.
Radiogad further explained that while VDM appeared to be dancing in the video to reassure his fans, known as “Ratels,” about his release, his voice sounded noticeably weaker than before, which Radiogad believes indicates an effort to suppress him.
In Radiogad’s words:
“He needs urgent medical attention, forget that he was dancing to make us feel good. His voice is not as loud as it used to be. It’s like they are suppressing his voice.”
“He’s going through body pains and internal bleeding. In fact, they used a gun to hit his neck.”
It’s important to note that VDM’s detention sparked widespread protests, with many calling for his release. His friend, Dkokoppe, posted several videos urging the EFCC to free him, at one point accusing the commission of attempting to silence VDM and arrest him again.
Numerous celebrities, including Davido, Cubana Chiefpriest, Speed Darlington, and others, also reacted to VDM’s arrest. Many of them advocated for his release, and some protesters were even detained by the EFCC during the demonstrations.
