In a viral video making the rounds online, a prominent music star passionately urged his fans to raise their torches and chant “Free VDM” in solidarity with the arrested social media influencer, VeryDarkMan (VDM). The singer, whose controversial diss track was recently banned from airing on television and radio, strongly emphasized his support for the activist.

In the recording, the musician could be heard shouting at the top of his lungs, urging his followers to keep chanting the slogan he had set. He expressed his frustrations with the government, stating that the demands for basic rights were not too much to ask.

The singer went on to point out that essential commodities like data and rice had seen significant price hikes, yet the government was suppressing voices speaking out against the issues.

This gesture comes after VDM publicly supported Eedris Abdulkareem when his diss track was also banned. At the time, VDM pledged to help sponsor a remix of Abdulkareem’s song and appeared eager to collaborate on the project.

The artist critiqued the government for its focus on banning music while numerous other critical issues affecting the country were being ignored.
