The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, along with 17 local government area chairpersons, councilors, on Tuesday defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Agbebaku and the other defectors were welcomed into the APC by the party’s national secretary, Ajibola Bashiru, Governor Monday Okpebholo, and other APC leaders during a ceremony held in Benin City, Edo State.
At the event, Governor Okpebholo praised the defecting politicians for their decision and emphasized that Edo State is moving forward with the support of President Bola Tinubu.
