Former Big Brother Naija housemate and comedian, Aderombi Adedayo Martin, popularly known as Deeone, has issued a strong warning to those planning to protest the arrest of social media critic, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
Addressing his message directly to the protesters and their families, Deeone advised against storming Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) branches or organizing rallies demanding VDM’s release. He warned that such actions could land participants in prison—Kirikiri for those in Lagos and Kuje for those in Abuja.
In his video shared online, the comedian recommended that rather than confronting the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), protesters should instead visit the agency to seek clarity on VDM’s alleged offence.
He insisted that the detained influencer had indeed committed an offence and urged the public to operate within the boundaries of the law to avoid further arrests.
Deeone concluded his statement by writing in his video caption: “Message to the few Ratelers who want to protest.”
This comes after he had previously shared a screenshot of an alleged petition against VeryDarkMan, reportedly filed by someone close to the activist.
