Popular comedian Bright Okpocha, widely known as Basketmouth, delivered a mix of comedy and controversy at the 2025 AY Live show by poking fun at music stars Wizkid and Burna Boy, while applauding Davido for his consistency.
According to a report by Legit.ng, the performance came shortly after Basketmouth and fellow comedian AY Makun ended their long-standing feud, adding extra attention to the event.
A viral video from the show captured Davido, who was in the audience, laughing and clapping as Basketmouth humorously analyzed the styles and performances of Nigeria’s “Big 3” artists.
Basketmouth began by commending Davido for his unwavering energy and signature stage presence over the years.
“He’s always had 100 people on stage with him—and he still does. Same voice, same energy,” the comedian quipped. He also gave a nod to Davido’s latest album, Five, emphasizing the artist’s consistency despite shifts in the music scene.
Turning to Wizkid, Basketmouth teased the artist’s shift in stage presence, joking, “He used to whine his waist, now it’s just singlet and singing.”
Burna Boy wasn’t spared either. Basketmouth took a playful jab, saying, “He calls himself the African Giant, but he’s still a boy. Even his attempt at a name change hasn’t caught on.”
The crowd erupted in laughter throughout the routine, clearly enjoying the light-hearted roast.
