Nigerian actor Emeka Nwagbarocha, popularly known as Emeneks, has sparked conversation online with his sharp criticism of fans celebrating the release of controversial internet personality, Vincent Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan.
VeryDarkMan was taken into custody on May 2, 2025, while accompanying his mother to a GTBank branch to resolve an issue related to her bank account. He was released five days later, on May 7, 2025.
Following his release, supporters of the outspoken critic flooded both social media and the streets, demanding justice and celebrating his freedom. A welcome-back party was even held in Abuja, with videos showing young people dancing, singing, and rejoicing in his honor.
Reacting to these celebrations, Emeneks voiced his disapproval online, calling the behavior “foolish.” The actor went further to criticize the general mindset, stating that Nigeria has “a high concentration of foolish people per square metre.”
He tweeted:
