The album, which dropped last year after weeks of anticipation and teasers from the singer, sparked debate online after a user named Jun Mill asked Grok whether Morayo was a hit or a flop.
In response, Grok stated that Morayo achieved strong success within Nigeria, highlighting that the project topped local charts and set new streaming records. The app also referenced reviews, noting a solid 7/10 rating from Pulse Nigeria and additional praise from NME’s Nigerian edition.
However, Grok added that declaring the album a flop isn’t entirely accurate but not entirely wrong either — especially from a global standpoint. On the international scene, Grok pointed out that Morayo failed to make it into the Billboard 200’s top 100, suggesting that this could be seen as a setback for Wizkid. The AI concluded that global reactions to the album were generally mixed and that Morayo didn’t break new ground musically.
Despite the divided reception, many fans celebrated Wizkid for dominating the Nigerian music scene. Meanwhile, fans of fellow artist Davido used Grok’s global critique as an opportunity to tease members of Wizkid’s fanbase, known as Wizkid FC, sparking online debates and interpretations of the AI’s analysis.
