Nigerians are in for an exciting spectacle as rapper Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi (real name Darlington Okoye), and street-pop sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly called Portable Zazu, intensify preparations for their much-anticipated boxing match.
Speed Darlington recently shared a video of himself purchasing a coffin—a subtle dig at Portable—before heading to the gym with his trainer. The rapper was seen honing his boxing skills, throwing punches, and working on his fitness in preparation for the big fight.
Meanwhile, Portable had earlier posted his own training clips, flexing his muscles and demonstrating his readiness for the challenge.
The celebrity boxing match is scheduled for April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The upcoming fight stems from a heated online exchange between the two artists. Speed Darlington had reportedly offered Portable N500,000 to perform at his show, an offer that Portable swiftly rejected, calling the amount too low for his status. Their online feud has now escalated into an in-ring battle that fans are eagerly awaiting.
