Portable responded by demanding ₦20 million instead, citing it as his standard fee and branding Speed Darlington as “poor” for the lowball offer.
The tension quickly escalated into a public challenge, with Portable daring Speed Darlington to face him in the ring—a challenge Speed eagerly accepted.
Held on April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Center in Lagos, the celebrity showdown drew widespread attention. Clips from the fight have since gone viral, capturing the intense energy inside the arena.
