Afrobeats singer Babatunde Rahim, widely known as Lyta, has raised concerns over his music career, warning that he may stop releasing new tracks if his fans do not show more support by streaming his existing songs. The former YBNL artist recently shared his frustrations during an Instagram live session, explaining that he is facing severe financial difficulties due to a lack of patronage from music fans.

Lyta revealed that he’s struggling to make ends meet, even hinting that he could stop making music altogether unless his audience starts engaging more with his releases. “I have the ability to create more great music, but if my songs aren’t getting the attention they deserve, I might stop dropping new ones,” Lyta said, explaining his current predicament. “I’m in desperate need of money.”

In an emotional plea to his fans, the artist shared his worries about his physical health, commenting on his slim physique. “Look at how I’m looking right now,” he said. “I want to gain some weight. If you all support me by streaming my music, I’ll be able to put on some weight and live better. Help me enjoy some of the benefits of my hard work.”

Lyta first gained recognition in 2018 when he was signed to YBNL Nation, a label owned by the popular rapper Olamide. However, in May 2019, he left YBNL following a falling out with Olamide. Since then, Lyta has attempted to reconcile with the label, even publicly pleading for a chance to return, but his requests have been met with silence.

Despite his past struggles, Lyta’s message seems to serve as both a call for fan support and a statement on the challenges faced by emerging artists in a competitive music industry.
