April 10 marked one year since the beloved Nollywood star tragically lost his life in a boat accident. His widow, Jennifer Awele, who had taken a break from social media to grieve, made an emotional return to pay tribute to her late husband.
In a deeply touching message, Jennifer expressed the profound pain of losing Junior Pope, describing his absence as something unimaginable and sharing that not a single day had passed without thoughts of him.
Fans were particularly moved by the beautiful studio photographs released in his memory—images that turned out to be thoughtfully arranged by Empress Njamah. The actress went above and beyond, accompanying Jennifer to a salon session for new wigs and a makeover in preparation for the tribute shoot.
A video later shared by Empress gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her efforts. It showed how she helped organize the tribute, including designing the large commemorative portrait of Junior Pope that was featured in many of the photos. She also arranged for matching white T-shirts worn by Jennifer and her three children during the memorial shoot.
