Afropop artist Dammy Krane, born Oyindamola Johnson Emmanuel, appears to be rekindling his rivalry with Afrobeats heavyweight Davido (David Adeleke), as he gears up to release a new EP titled 5ive.
The announcement has sparked conversation online, given that Davido is also set to drop his much-anticipated fifth studio album—coincidentally titled 5—on the same date, April 18.
Beyond the name resemblance, the timing of Dammy Krane’s release has fueled speculation of a subtle jab at the Unavailable crooner. The tension between the two artists dates back to 2024, when Dammy Krane made public allegations against Davido, which later led to his arrest.
Adding fuel to the fire, Dammy Krane recently unveiled a teaser trailer for his 5ive EP, laced with indirect shots. He captioned the post:
