The lawsuit, dated March 3, was prompted by a series of Instagram posts where Verydarkman accused Chinwo of keeping her performance earnings instead of passing them to her former record label, led by Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, known as EeZee Tee.
In response to the lawsuit, VDM posted on Instagram, naming about seven people who have sued him. He expressed that he can’t meet all the financial demands.
In a heartfelt moment, he cried while asking Mercy Chinwo to lower the lawsuit amount to N5 million, jokingly singing some of her songs and saying that’s what he can manage.
“Una go kee me, the money wey dey inside the NGO sef no reach that amount. I know this case is not a case I can go on, so it is better I tender an apology. Mercy, don’t let the devil use you. I don’t have N1bn to pay in case you win. Abeg, I am not saying you should not sue, reduce the money, maybe to N5m,” he stated.
