  • Muyiwa Ademola, an actor and producer, is seeking Nigerian support for his cinema debut, a sequel to his popular movie “Ori,” set to release in May.
  • Ademola has claimed to have invested over N400 million in a project and is seeking public support to recoup his investment and achieve profit.

Nigerian actor and producer Muyiwa Ademola is calling for support from Nigerians as he prepares for the release of his highly anticipated cinema debut, a sequel to his successful film Ori. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters in May.

Ademola shared that he has invested over N400 million in the project and is relying on public support to recoup his investment and turn a profit.

In an interview, the actor expressed his confidence in the movie’s appeal, assuring fans that they will enjoy the sequel. However, he also humorously warned potential viewers, adding that those who didn’t enjoy the first Ori film should not bother watching the new installment.

He said: “I have spent millions, like over N400 million, investing in my new movie. You will love it and enjoy it. I need to make back my money. I need to make money, I need profit. If you watched the first Ori and didn’t enjoy it, don’t watch this one”.

The announcement comes as another prominent Nigerian actor, Femi Adebayo, revealed how he sold personal properties to finance his ambitious multi-billion naira movie project, Jagun Jagun, rather than relying on financial institutions or individuals.

With the industry’s growing interest in high-budget productions, Ademola’s call for support highlights the financial risks that come with creating large-scale movie projects in Nollywood.
