Popular content creator Debo Adebayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, has strongly reacted to a recent statement by Senator Ben Bruce regarding Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Akpabio, who is currently facing allegations of sexual harassment and corruption, received public support from Ben Bruce. In his post, Bruce expressed his solidarity with Akpabio, stating that he would not remain silent while certain individuals attempted to undermine an institution he once proudly served.
In response, Mr Macaroni criticized the former senator, calling him a hypocrite. The comedian and activist pointed out that Nigerian politicians are primarily concerned with their own interests rather than the well-being of the people.
To highlight what he saw as Bruce’s inconsistency, Mr Macaroni referenced past remarks made by the politician. He shared old tweets where Bruce had previously condemned Akpabio, even tagging international organizations to draw attention to alleged abuses of power by the Senate President.
Through his response, Mr Macaroni reinforced his stance that political loyalty in Nigeria is often driven by personal gain rather than genuine concern for justice and governance.
