Deji Adeyanju, the lawyer for social media critic Martins Otse, known as Verydarkman, has spoken out about Mercy Chinwo’s recent actions against his client.
GistLover previously reported that the gospel singer has taken Verydarkman to court for defamation.
According to a document from March 3rd, 2025, Chinwo is seeking N1.1 billion in compensation for the defamation suit.
She also wants the activist to publicly apologize, withdraw all allegations against her, and appear in court within 14 days.
Recall that VDM gained attention when he spoke out against Chinwo regarding her problems with her old label boss and manager, Eezee Tee.
The critic claimed that her comments were suspicious and promised to look into the matter.
Deji Adeyanju shared a tweet on X, making fun of the lawsuit and claiming that his client has no funds to offer anyone.
“I heard somebody sued VDM for N1.1billion and I laughed so hard. What I know is that VDM does not have N100k anywhere in the world to give anyone. People just be wasting their time for nothing,” he wrote.
