- Speed Darlington has again be arrested by the Nigerian Police force upon his arrival into Nigeria.
- The singer who was arrested and released barely two months ago was picked up in Owerri.
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested Nigerian singer, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington barely two months after he was released.
WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the singer, also known as Akpi, was arrested on October 4, following the release of a contentious video in which he allegedly mocked his colleague, Burna Boy’s association with American rapper Diddy, who has faced legal issues with the FBI over charges of sexual exploitation.
The outspoken Nigerian singer was, however, released on bail on October 9 after spending five days in detention.
His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju announced the latest arrest on Wednesday morning via a post on his official microblogging X page. He wrote:
“Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a AKPI has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria”.

The singer revealed this during a recent interview on Beat FM, likening the occasion to that of American music executive, Diddy’s.
The singer hinted that the music industry might have its own version of Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, the American music executive who is alleged to be involved in sex trafficking.
In March, properties owned by Combs in Los Angeles and Miami were raided by Homeland Security as part of an ongoing federal investigation primarily focused on allegations of sex trafficking. The musician is also facing multiple court cases over allegations of sexual assault which span back to the 1990s.
Tiwa Savage without giving further details stated that there will come a time when the person she is talking about gets apprehended.
