Super Falcons star Rasheedat Ajibade has taken up the challenge of learning the reintroduced Nigerian national anthem, Soccernet.ng reports.
On May 29, 2024, the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, signed a bill from the National Assembly into law, authorizing the change of the national anthem from “Arise O Compatriots” to the old “Nigeria, We Hail Thee”, the anthem composed by the British during the colonial era.
In response to this development, the Super Falcons captain is leading by example as the football star shared a video on Instagram of herself attempting to master the lyrics.

Ajibade wrote in the caption, “I don start to dey learn my own, I no fit argue with🇳🇬”
Adapting to the government’s changes is necessary for national team players, as they are required to recite the national anthem at international matches.
Meanwhile, Ajibade has been making impressive strides at Atletico Madrid, recently scoring a goal in their 3-1 win against Levantes Las Planas.
The Super Falcons forward played a crucial role in helping the national women’s team secure a spot in the Paris Olympic Games. The Nigerian international is expected to participate in the Olympic Games in July.
