The Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, was also inaugurated during the event.
Oba Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the paramount ruler of Ijebuland and an Awujale, has been awarded the national honor of Grand Commander of the Order of Niger (GCON) by President Bola Tinubu in recognition of his immense and priceless contributions to the development of the country.
As part of celebrations for his 90th birthday and 64th coronation as a Paramount ruler, the President gave a book presentation on “Reinventing Governance in Nigeria” on Friday at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago Iwoye. He was accompanied by his Vice, Alhaji Kashim Shettima.
The Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, was also inaugurated during the event.
The President also announced that the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos has been directed to take over the management of Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance which the royal father bequeathed to the university.
He described Awujale as an extraordinary royal father and hero of Nigeria democracy, who is adored all over the country for his sincerity of purpose and courage in the face of any adversity threatening national development.
