News reporters were informed that there was an abduction case by Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer SP Adewale Osifeso; however, he added that some of the victims had been freed.
In Oyo State, a 14-seater bus carrying a pastor from the Redeemed Christian Church of God, or RCCG, named Olugbenga Olawore, and other passengers were abducted.
It was reported that on Friday, the clergyman and several other bus passengers were kidnapped. The bus was reportedly traveling to Lagos State.
Olawore is a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s Heavens Gate Parish, located on Agbara-Lusada Road in Ogun State’s Lagos Province 73.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday along the Maya axis of Lanlate-Eruwa Road at approximately 5 p.m.
The cleric was coming back from Ipapo town, where he had gone to finish preparing his mother’s funeral.
Deaconess Deborah Olawore, the mother of the pastor, was supposed to be buried on Friday, May 3rd, but there was supposed to be a Christian wake the following Friday, April 26.

According to the PPRO, police officers were in the forest and the vicinity of the incident to capture the suspects and rescue the remaining victims. They worked in tandem with other security organizations and local hunters.
“Some of the rescued victims are providing helpful leads that can aid the investigation,” he stated. Every path surrounding the region, and the nearby wooded areas, is being searched.
“Investigation is ongoing. Updates would be provided accordingly.”
