He informed the court that the defendant’s health condition led to the prosecution’s admission of him, and he added that the defendant’s weight was causing palpitations.
Pascal Okechukwu, a.k.a. Cubana Chief Priest, is a Nigerian businessman and socialite who boasted about his N10 million bail at the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday.
Following his release on bond, Cubana Chief Priest posted on Instagram, saying, “Money na water.”
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged Cubana Chief Priest with misusing naira, according to a previous report from Vanguard.
The businessman was charged with three counts of spraying and tampering with naira notes during an event at Eko Hotels in Lagos, and was brought before Justice Kehinde Ogundare.
Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari represented the prosecution in court, and Mr. Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN) represented the Cubana Chief Priest.
First, the defence attorney for the defendant told the court of a preliminary objection that questioned the court’s jurisdiction and a bail request that had been made.
Ojukwu went on to tell the judge that the prosecution had no objections to the same.
The socialite entered a not guilty plea after the accusation was read to her.
The defendant’s attorney requested that the court grant him bail on lenient conditions when he moved the defendant’s bail application.
He informed the court that the defendant’s health condition led to the prosecution’s admission of him, and he added that the defendant’s weight was causing palpitations.
Socialite Cubana Chief Priest boasted about the development on Instagram after being released from court on bond.
“Seeing All You Messages & Love I’m So Humbled. Now It’s Confirmed CP No Small. Money Na Water,” he wrote.
