Super Eagles and Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen was on the scoresheet again as Napoli played a 2-2 draw against Frosinone, Soccernet.ng reports.
Napoli returned to winning ways last weekend in Monza, where Victor Osimhen scored an insane header to give the defending Serie A Champions three points after five winless games.
Calzona’s men welcomed Frosinone to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium as they looked to leap into the European competition spots on the league table.
Matteo Politano scored a cracking volley last weekend and broke the deadlock for the home side. A Di Lorenzo pass found the Italian winger on the right wing before he decided to go on a mazy solo run and nestle the ball into Stefano Turati’s goal.
Amir Rrahmani fouled Walid Cheddira in Napoli’s penalty area, leading to a penalty for the visitors. Matias Soule stepped up to take the penalty, but Alex Meret was equal to the strike and parried the spot kick, keeping Napoli ahead.
Frosinone levelled the game five minutes into the second half. A failed clearance from Meret saw Walid Cheddira pounce on the opportunity to bring Eusebio Di Francesco’s side into the game.
Victor Osimhen put Napoli back in front three minutes after the hour mark. A cleared corner was volleyed back into the box by Kvarastkhelia. Osimhen reacted to the ball first, volleying it home for his 13th league goal of the season.
Ten minutes later, Cheddira equalized again. A brilliant cross from Nadir Zortea was headed home by the Moroccan Cheddira, leaving Meret no chance.
