Veteran Nigerian singer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy or Area Fada, has publicly criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the detention of controversial crossdresser, Bobrisky.
Taking to his Instagram page, Charly Boy asserted that Bobrisky should not be the focal point of the EFCC’s efforts, emphasizing that the crossdresser is not the problem plaguing Nigeria.
He urged the commission to redirect its attention towards more pressing issues.
In his post, Charly Boy highlighted what he perceived as the commission’s hypocrisy.
He pointed out that many civil servants, ministers, and internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as ‘yahoo boys,’ openly display their wealth but are not apprehended by the EFCC.
He questioned the commission’s moral judgment in targeting Bobrisky while seemingly overlooking more significant financial crimes.
He went on to remind the EFCC of its primary mandate. Charly Boy also criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its supporters, accusing them of employing diversionary tactics and collaborating with influencers to distract the public from pressing issues such as the recent hike in electricity tariffs.
In his words;
“EFCC make una go find better work and leave Bobrisky alone I beg una.
Sake bcos e spray money?
Do you know how many, civil servants, ministers yahoo old men spraying money on a daily?
Bobrisky is not our problem since you guys are no moral police. Ur work na to retrieve stolen money from the criminal group of Politicians.
But I can see dat APC people are still using the tactics from dia old playbook syndicated by Dia cash and carry influencers distracting the people with nonsense since dey can’t focus.
*This una New Electricity Tariff, who wan pay when we can barely eat?
Is dis how you people want to kill us by making great sacrifices for ur Owambe lifestyle?
