Coach Chris Danjuma has selected a squad of 20 players to don the Nigerian colors in the women’s football event of the 13th African Games, Soccernet.ng reports.
The continental championship is slated to kick off this Thursday, propelling Nigeria’s contingent to soar out of the country on Tuesday, destined for the battleground in Ghana.
Danjuma has meticulously composed a squad comprising three goalkeepers, six defenders, five midfielders, and six attackers, ensuring a balanced and versatile lineup for the Falconets.
Among the prominent names on the roster are goalkeeper Faith Omilana, defenders Shukurat Oladipo and Jumoke Alani, midfield maestros Chioma Olise and Olushola Shobowale, alongside attackers Blessing Okpe and Judith Okah.
Adding depth to the squad, the veteran coach has also included the likes of Anderline Mgbechi, team captain Oluchi Ohaegbulem, midfielder Adoo Yina, and forward dynamo Chiamaka Okwuchukwu.
The defending champions, Nigeria, are placed in Group B, a challenging cluster alongside Morocco, Senegal, and Cameroon.
Host nation Ghana will face off against Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Uganda in Group A.
All the action is slated to unfold at the Cape Coast Stadium
