Having faced the Merseyside club over the previous years in the Premier League, Leicester will travel to Anfield in the second tier this term.
That divisional gap between the two sides shouldn’t be a reason for discouragement, though, according to Iheanacho, who believes his team of capable of competing with their opponents despite their apparent underdog status.
He said: ‘We are excited. We know what Anfield is like. It’s a great atmosphere there. We are not going there for the atmosphere, we are going there to complete, the Nigerian forward revealed on Leicester City’s website
We played them in the pre-season and we’re in a good place now. We’re winning games. It’s a cup game, but we know what they’re like. They’re a strong side, they’ve been doing well in the Premier League.
They’re going to be strong for us, but we need to really work hard to get the win. Hopefully we’ll do that so let’s see what comes out of that. They press really well. We have to be careful of that as well.
