It’s no secret that Manchester United want to sign a striker this summer. In fact, since the transfer window opened, Erik ten Hag has targetted a multitude of different striker options. From Victor Osimhen to Harry Kane, there has been a wide range of strikers with different price tags and abilities cropping up for Manchester United.
However, as targets have entered and exited the shortlist, one striker has remained around the top of Erik ten Hag’s wishlist. That striker is Rasmus Hojlund, the exceptional 20-year-old Danish striker who currently plays in the Serie A for Atalanta. However, no bid had been made from Manchester United.
Manchester United will open bidding for Rasmus Hojlund soon
According to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are planning to submit their first official bid for Hojlund “soon.” There seems to be competition from PSG looming, so Man United have been forced into action to avoid any potential hijack.

While first bids are very rarely accepted, especially when publicly rich clubs like Manchester United are involved, this remains good news for fans. It shows that Erik ten Hag is serious about signing Hojlund and it’s not just sensationalist media stories. An official opening bid will settle the nerves of fans going into the new season.
While it is unfair to make such comparisons, it frightens me how similar Hojlund is to Manchester City’s robot Erling Haaland. Both players are immensely tall and have a physical presence, which doesn’t seem possible that they are both rapid. In fact, I would even argue that Hojlund is faster than Haaland.

While his goal scoring ability is yet to be proven, there’s no denying that Hojlund is one of the best options on the market for Manchester United right now.
