BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU women’s tennis team (8-4, 2-3 SEC) will host the Alcorn State Lady Braves (5-11) in a rare Monday morning game at 11 a.m. CT on March 20 at the LSU tennis complex.

The matchup
LSU has a perfect 3-0 record against Alcorn State in series history. The teams will meet Monday for the first time since the 2018 doubles season, in which LSU won 4-1 at the LSU Tennis Complex.
The Lady Braves go into the season with a record of 5:11. In conference play at SWAC, Alcorn State is 3-1. They are led in singles by Nicole Kells, who is 8-10 in the season.

Tiger treat
LSU was last in action Friday night at Bryan-College Station, Texas, when the Tigers fell 5-2 to 2nd-ranked Texas A&M. Points that night came from Anastasiya Komar, who won Salma Ewing 6-3, 6-3 in a row, and Nikita Vishwase, who clinched her first ranked singles win of her college career with a three-set win over No. 80 Darya Smetannikov, 7- 5, 4-6, 6-4.
The trio of ranks from LSU remained present in the last ITA individual ranking list. In singles, Kylie Collins leads the Tigers in 17th while Anastasiya Komar sits in 26th. LSU’s leading doubles pair Komar and freshman Nikita Vishwase complete the trio by checking in at number 22. As a team, the Tigers are 38th.
Anastasiya Komar has a perfect 11-0 doubles record and has had all but one single game this season for the Tigers. The Belarusian native has won eight of those 11 games in straight sets and three wins over ranked opponents in the spring.
The doubles game has been a strong point for the Tigers in doubles games this season. The Supreme Court has a record of 7-2, No. 2 has a record of 6-2 and the No. 3 Court has a record of 8-4 for an overall record of 21-8. The Tigers have secured the double in nine of their 12 games this season.
Monday’s game is the last non-conference game of the regular season for the Tigers. In non-conference play, LSU has a 6-1 record so far this season.
