“It is with a heavy heart and after prayerful consideration that I have decided that I will be stepping down from my position as CEO of the organization. I have loved my last ten years with all of you and will forever be proud of everything we have achieved together. I have informed the board members, pledged my support for the transition, and will do what I can when they begin the search for a new leader. They are all the heart and soul of free enterprise in Louisiana. Thank you and please remain committed to this wonderful state that we all love.”
With one more Republican joining the race, it brings the total to five members of the GOP vying for Louisiana’s highest office. Waguespack joins the race with Attorney General Jeff Landry, Treasurer John Schroder, Senator Sharon Hewitt and Rep. Richard Nelson. Independent attorney Hunter Lundy is also in the running, as is former DOTD Secretary Shawn Wilson on the Democrat side.
