BATON ROUGE — LSU football has flipped its 2024 schedule on its head.
ESPN announced Wednesday that the LSU 2024 season opener against Southern Cal in Las Vegas will be on Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN, meaning the Tigers will open their season on a Sunday for three straight years.
According to documents obtained by The Advertiser, LSU rescheduled its game against Rice from September 7, 2024 to September 29, 2029.
The change was made last month, a day after the announcement that Texas and Oklahoma would move from the Big 12 to the SEC in 2024. The schedule adjustment would allow LSU to participate in nine conference games in 2024.
