According to the Louisiana State Police Level 3 sex crimes: First degree rape, aggravated rape, second degree rape, forced rape, third degree rape, simple rape, sexual abuse of a child under 13, second degree sexual abuse, aggravated kidnapping of a minor, second degree kidnapping, simple kidnapping of a minor, human trafficking , child trafficking for sexual purposes, aggravated incest, molestation of a youth or a person with a physical or mental disability, purchase of commercial sexual activity from a person known to be a minor, purchase of commercial sexual activity from a person who known to be under the age of 14, crimes against nature unless the victim is a minor, felonies against nature involving a prohibited relative as a victim, and sexual assault of the infirm.
Why is this information public?
The short answer: in the interests of public safety. Law enforcement officials say sex offenders are at high risk of repeat offenses. Plus, if you have young children, it’s good to know to protect them. You don’t want to go into the wrong house or let your child play in the wrong yard on Halloween.
