Manchester United: Erik ten Hag locates £65m David de Gea replacement
Given Arsenal’s successes so far this season, it’s not a surprise to see every one of their previous flops speaking up to the media. The salty mob of players who could’ve made it but didn’t will do anything to bring Mikel Arteta’s army down – but in reality, people just feel sorry for them.

Emiliano Martinez was one of those, but he was royally humbled after scoring an own goal and leaving the net wide open when he came up against his former side recently.
According to the latest from AS, Dani Ceballos was counting down the days until he could leave Arsenal. Signing on a season-long loan in 2019, he apparently realised as soon as he joined that he wanted to leave and go back to Real Madrid. As excellently pointed out from The Boot Room, though, he was eager to sign for a second season, essentially contradicting everything he just said.
Dani Ceballos never did fit in at Arsenal. He was shy whenever he was off the ball, and far too frail to fight for it. This is understandable when you play in a non-physical league, but it’ll never work out in the Premier League which is one of the most physical in the world.
Instead, Arsenal opted to sign Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid and he is playing much better than Ceballos. It took him a little bit of time to adapt physically but now he’s the captain and leading the title charge by example. Ceballos, take notes.
Ceballos is a free agent in the summer, but his comments should deter any Premier League from wanting to sign him. Even as a free signing, he’d be of no benefit to any English side as frankly, he’s not up to the physical standard.
