If there’s one thing we know about Boosie BadAzz, it’s that the Baton Rouge native is very opinionated. On Monday (February 20), he announced he was canceling a joint project he and TI were planning to release after learning some news he didn’t agree with.
The decision came after a 2020 confession when “Whatever You Like” claimed he previously ratted on a dead cousin. Boosie couldn’t seem to allow him to come to terms with the possibility that his fellow rapper was colluding with the police. “With the TI situation, if he did that, you damn rat too. I don’t spare a muthaf**kin body. Because when you get it wrong and you’re cooperating with law enforcement to get you out of trouble, that means you’re cooperating. That means you’re a rat,” the “Wipe Me Down” hitmaker said in an interview with Vlad TV earlier this week. He added that he was conflicted about the situation: “But I’ll tell you so, seeing this, I think TI is fucking lying. I think he went up there and fucking talked. You think something happened when you were 17, 18, right? How loud he is. Will you last through all the damn times? The whole damn time, for 20+ years, you’ve been holding that and it finally came out?”
Boosie felt the timing of the bomb was wrong. “And then I was like, ‘Why the hell is he saying that when we’re finally going to put out an album? It ruined everything,” he said. Luckily for the “Set It Off” artist, TI doesn’t seem to have meant it that much. After getting wind of the interview, the Atlanta rapper revised his story while speaking to Trap News Network: “It came out of a conversation my partner and I had. That conversation was, ‘Hey bro, if you and me get a case together and I die before you, it’s mine.’ He said, ‘No, I can’t.’ [I said,] ‘Yes you can. It belongs to me. Why can not you? I do not get it.’ He said, ‘No, I can’t do that.’ You know what I mean? He said, ‘I really can’t say anything about someone who does, but I can’t do it.’”

The story goes on
TI further clarified by saying, “So I created a set of circumstances out of that conversation. You know what I mean? And I thought the embellishment was clear when I said I spoke to my cousin and he told me…” He didn’t end there, in a social media post writing in part, “Idk if it’s you or you OG uncle, he needs to see it… but I have my papers ready to show!!!” with a clip of Boosie’s original interview. We hope that the two southern entertainers can find a solution and release songs that fans deserve.
