In Pretty Little Liars: Who Killed Karen?
Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin is a teen drama sequel to the 2010 original and based on the book series of the same name by author Sara Shepard. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (of “Riverdale”) and Lindsay Calhoon Bring made it for TV. The show revolves around Imogen Adams and her friends who are forced to uncover a trail of dark truths after being monitored by an enigmatic stalker.
The girls’ struggles are sparked by the death of Karen Beasly and take a dark turn. However, Karen’s death is still a mystery and could hold the key to solving a number of the group’s problems. So it’s only natural that viewers are curious about the reasons for Karen’s murder and the person who committed it. Here’s what we know if you’re looking for answers in these areas! Spoilers follow!
How did Karen die?
The first episode of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin introduces Karen, played by actress Mallory Bechtel. Bechtel is best known for her role as Bridget in the horror drama Hereditary. Her other credits include roles on programs such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and FBI: Most Wanted. Kelly, Karen’s identical twin sister, is a character that Bechtel also plays in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.
Imogen’s former best friend Karen was the “Queen Bee” of Millwood High School. She is viewed negatively by her peers and is notorious for bullying others. The Little Liars (Imogen, Tabby, Noa, Faran and Mouse) suspect Karen is responsible for a series of mishaps that get them into trouble. So they humiliate Karen by showing a video of her that Imogen has. However, Karen is upset about the incident and tries to humiliate Imogen after she was proclaimed Ghost Queen at the prom. However, Karen’s plan takes a tragic turn when she trips and falls to her death from the trellis above the stage.
Who Murdered Karen?
Karen dies during the ghost dance in the second episode, “Chapter Two: The Ghost Queen,” and the act causes havoc at Millwood High School. Although the Little Liars are blamed for Karen’s death, the case is still ruled a suicide. The only people who know Karen didn’t commit suicide are the gang. The gang witnesses Karen being killed by being thrown out of the grate above the stage by the enigmatic and menacing stalker “A”. However, the stalker pressures the group to keep quiet and hide the truth about Karen’s death.
While A is the killer, the reason Karen was stalked is still a mystery. Also, the man in the mask known as A is probably just the muscle and someone else is the real genius. As a result, Karen’s death could be related to a larger conspiracy, and her killer could be linked to A. Karen’s death reminded me of Angela Waters’ death 22 years ago. There could therefore be a connection between Karen’s killer and Angela’s death. There’s still a chance Karen is still alive. In the final seconds of her plan, Karen might have swapped places with her sister, Kelly. The girls are identical twins, so the killer may have targeted Kelly rather than Karen. So Karen is probably posing as Kelly right now.
