All HISD after school activities have been canceled due to inclement weather

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – The Houston and Fort Bend ISDs canceled all after-school activities for Tuesday due to inclement weather that could cause flooding in the streets, bring damaging winds and develop into powerful tornadoes.

Parents, if you are planning to take your child a little later because they are playing a sport or a club, you are advised to make other arrangements as these activities are no longer available.

In terms of allowing students to get out of school early, the only district that has made the decision to do so is Liberty ISD, saying that all universities will release students at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

“Severe weather with strong winds and potential flooding is possible this afternoon at our normal release time. The safety of our students, staff, and community is always our top priority,” the county said in part.
